Niko Novick: Randomly ran into Rob Pattinson at Soho House tonight- he remembered our Inception argument on Water for Elephants and bought us a beer.
And then there were two.
In the beginning we presented you with 32 of the summer’s hottest celebrities, 16 men and 16 women, and put the task of crowing a King and a Queen of the hot season in your hands. The votes have been counted and the results are in.
So who in Hollywood truly had the best summer?
Your King and Queen of Summer 2010: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Now, several factors helped propel each member of this duo into the top spots. Not only did they kinda come out as a couple this summer via a very grainy photo, they appeared in Eclipse, one of the year’s biggest box-office hits. And they both were filming high profile “next step” movies, Water for Elephants and On the Road.
With those events supporting them, they each did away easily with their compettion to meet at the top.
In the final round, Robert Downey Jr.’s charms proved no match for Rob’s. The veteran actor was sent packing after receiving only 31.3 percent of the vote to Pattinson’s 68.7. Likewise, Kristen ended final challenger Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream domination, grabbing 61.6 percent to Perry’s 38.4.
Here’s to the winners—and everybody else who gave it a shot.

Getting back to work on her latest project, Kristen Stewart did her best to keep cool in the New Orleans heat as she prepares for scenes for her new film, “On the Road’” on Thursday afternoon (September 2).
According to a GossipCenter source on the scene, the Bella Swan babe left her Big Easy hotel with hunky co-star, Garrett Hedlund, as the pair headed off to rehearsals.
Once arrived on-set, Miss Stewart proceeded to puff on a cigarette and chomp down a banana before sitting down with the crew to go over her lines.
The sighting comes just after Kristen moved out of her shared Bel-Air abode with Robert Pattinson, as a real estate agent told E! Online: “They are no longer renting the home.”
Back to “On the Road”, the Walter Salles directed film is due out in 2011 and is about “a young man sets out to travel the roads and railways of America.”

Peter Facinelli is committed to his on-screen family.
As Carlislie, patriarch of the Cullen vampire clan in the Twilight series, Facinelli is firm when it comes to the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate.
“I’m Team Edward, because he’s my son and I like to keep it in the family,” the actor said during a video chat series for Tom’s of Maine’s New Wicked Fresh! Launch.
But the appeal of Edward – played by Robert Pattinson – goes beyond Facinelli’s familial ties to the character. “If I had no association with the films, I’d still be Team Edward,” he says. “There’s something interesting about living forever, having that eternity.”

Facinelli is such a fan of Edward that if he was younger, he says Pattinson might have been out of a job. “If I was maybe 10, 11 years younger – what is Rob like 24? – I’d like to play Edward, But the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree so it’s pretty cool playing Carlisle,” says Facinelli.
As for Pattinson, Facinelli admires and jokes about him like a son. “He’s a cool guy, very professional. He’s always thinking, he’s very intense and he’s fun to hang with,” Facinelli said, jokingly adding, “I wish he’d bathe once in awhile. I’m kidding! Those are all rumors; I don’t know where they start those.”
As for any Breaking Dawn, Facinelli can’t spill the beans even if he wanted to. “I’m looking forward to getting the scripts,” he said, “I talked to [screenwriter] Melissa Rosenberg and she said she is almost ready for them to be sent out to the cast but she’s quite happy with them.”

Dare to wear bold eye shadow in shades reminiscent of Fall foliage—rust, deep purple or pink. Fair and medium complexions can go for sheer or opaque formulas. But those with darker skin should stick to highly pigmented opaques as the color will be more noticeable and vibrant. The monotone look is big this Fall so try using just one shade. Apply it on lash lines, lids or at your eyes outer corners. Just be careful if pink is your color of choice – if it’s near your lash lines it might make eyes look irritated.

Similar to the Kings competition, a little-known actress by the name of Kristen Stewart has swept the hearts and minds of voters and finds herself in the final round.
So who’d she beat to make it this far?
K.Stew managed to take down America’s Sweetheart (or at least one of America’s Sweethearts) Jennifer Aniston, grabbing 59 percent of the vote to Jen’s 41. Honestly, we thought Jen would have done better. Maybe The Switch turned off more people than we expected.
On the other hand, maybe Jen can rest easy knowing Angelina Jolie was also knocked out of the competition. Katy Perry continued her domination and did away with the Salt star 60 percent to 40 percent.
So tell us: Who had the best summer? Don’t forget to crown a King of Summer. The decision’s in your hands, and if you don’t vote, you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.
Sara Gruen gets a star turn in the film version of her novel Water for Elephants, now in post-production.
She got to meet stars Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon. Just as thrilling was being lifted into the air by Tai the elephant, who depicts circus elephant Rosie in the movie, due April 15.
“Her trainer told me to hug her trunk,” says Gruen, “so I did, and suddenly I was 7 feet in the air. She gave me many kisses, probably because I always carry mints for my horses, so I was slipping her candy every time I got a chance.”
Gruen, her husband and three sons were cast as extras in a scene in which the circus performers and animals parade down the streets in Weehawken, N.J.
“We retook that scene I think 18 times,” Gruen recalls. “I’m the one Rob Pattinson (who plays veterinarian Jacob Jankowski) elbows past and says, ‘Excuse me, ma’am’ to.”
As for Christoph Waltz, who plays an abusive animal trainer, Gruen says: “I watched a scene being filmed when he was ‘beating’ Rosie. From the side of the road, it was very obvious that he wasn’t going anywhere near her, but from behind the bank of monitors, it was extremely convincing.”

Some actor by the name of Robert Pattinson has made it all the way to the finals of our King of Summer Tournament. Really, we’re just beside ourselves. This “underdog” managed to take down…
Leonardo DiCaprio, star of the summer’s biggest movie, Inception, with 58 percent of the vote. But will he be able to repeat that performance against Robert Downey Jr.? RDJ’s charms have proven themselves to be very powerful over the years, and he used them to easily move past Eminem in the previous round, 55 percent to 45 percent.
So who had the best summer?
Kristen Stewart is a “completely different person” when Robert Pattinson is around.
The 20-year-old actress has been dating her 24-year-old Twilight co-star for around two years. Kristen is known for her serious personality, which often sees her criticised for failing to smile in paparazzi pictures.
Kristen is currently in Montreal filming a new movie and her co-stars were stunned by the change in the young star when Robert flew to the set for a visit. All of a sudden Kristen was behaving like a giggly teenager who couldn’t stop telling jokes.
“Kristen was a joy to be around, laughing and joking – she was like a different person,” a witness told British magazine More.
Robert and Kristen have reportedly being going through a rocky patch in their relationship recently. Robert wants to live in New York, while Kristen is keen to remain in Los Angeles, but they are believed to have decided to remain in California because they can’t bear to be apart.
“There was tension between them when Rob said he wanted to escape LA and move to New York,” a source said. “But as soon as Robert flew up to Montreal to surprise her, all their troubles just melted away.
“I think when he really thought about it he realised that as much as he’d like to live in New York, he doesn’t want to be anywhere without Kristen.”

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz holds no illusions about the nature of his stardom. “Producers and studios know what sells,” the impressively fit actor told UsMagazine.com during a Monday phone interview. “It’s nice to be one of the guys that can help sell a movie by taking his shirt off.”
Lutz, 25, recently topped Men’s Health magazine’s inaugural list of Best Summer Bodies — beating out such six-packed studs as Matthew McConaughey, Twilight costar Taylor Lautner, Zac Efron and others.

Still, Lutz told Us, “By no means do I want to be a piece of meat for the rest of my career. It’s funny when you get asked to do a talk show, and then they follow it up with requesting you take your shirt off.”
The star called Us from New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina; working with charity the St. Bernard Project, Lutz helped build five houses in seven days for the still-recovering city.
“We were working around the clock at 50 hours at a time in different shifts,” Lutz marveled. “We got it done just in time. We had so many people come out and lend a helping hand. It was so touching. ”

Lutz’s girlfriend AnnaLynne McCord first introduced him to the St. Bernard Project. “She really educated me on the need down there,” Lutz told Us. “You don’t really grasp what is going on unless you are down there experiencing it.” (He also recently shot a romantic comedy, Love Wedding Marriage, with Mandy Moore, in the area.)

He’ll be back in Louisiana when Breaking Dawn begins filming in Baton Rouge. “I’m hoping to truck down and work with the St. Bernard Project [there] as well. Hopefully I’ll be bring some other cast members too.”
Cast members like…Robert Pattinson? “It would be a great surprise for everyone,” Lutz said, laughing. “Although I would have to take video of Rob trying to hammer a nail, he might hurt himself.”
